Internet Safety PSA
Child Abuse PSA
I think this is a professional work, but it really seems like a highschool student put it together. The acting is awful and unbelievable, the camera angles and shots are slow and centered, (RULE OF THIRDS!) and the slow motion is cheesy and out dated. Really needs some work. The barbie idea is kind of week and the kid to teenage transition was confusing and out of place. No bueno.
Splode PSA
I've always loved this PSA a so i thought id post it. It so goofy and fun and then it turns very serious very quick. It's one of the only PSAs I've looked at that are about something totally different than the video, and i love that. The videography is great and the typography is extremely simple but more powerful than any other typography I've seen. This is a good, classic PSA, one we should learn from!
Cooties PSA
Not bad. It was really fun and ironic, but not perfect. The camera shots were good, and the fades made it seem ironically dramatic. I also liked the sad piano music in the back, that really added to it, however the courier new font in the typography was a terrible idea. What is this New York Times? No. So don't used a giant version of a serif font. Rookie mistake! The idea was fun but it could just use some tweaking.
Stay In School PSA
Its so 90's! I love it. The video really isn't that bad either. The camera cuts are good, and its a pretty strong message. The typography at the end was terrible, it its the 90's, what are ya gonna do?
Funny Autocorrect PSA
This was hilarious. "Can't you just turn it off?" "No! I need it... and i don't know how." The black and white made it ironically funny and the script for each character was perfect. I wished they picked a less cliche song for the background but, nevertheless, it was creative, unique, and funny. Nicely done.

Video Self Portrait
This self portrait isn't bad. But it could use some work. It definitely tells me all about her interests which is the point of a self portrait video, and the idea was very strong. But some of the cinematography could use some help. the shots are a little boring and get very repetitive by the end of the video. All in all however, it was a good idea and she pulled it off fairly well. This was done by a former Carroll Community student Jennifer.
Self Portrait Video 2009 HD
This self portrait video was terrible. The only thing i got from it is that he is a college student from New York City. A bunch of random, sped up shots of him either walking or biking, him at a party and walking into dorms... It had no point or summary. The only good thing to say is some of the shots were pretty creative and unique. This was a college piece and the name of the student was not listed.
Monsters PSA
This is extremely creepy, but very powerful and really delivers the message in an "in your face" kind of way. I love how it start very innocent, but the music is somewhat eerie, and then it slowly gets worse and worse as we start to see the "monsters" and the music gets more and more scary. Some of the transistions could use a little work but other that that the video is great. This was put on by the Fragile Childhood Association.
Worksafe Ads - Bakery.flv
This is a PSA put on by WorkSafe. It uses the scarcity, gruesome factor to push the message of asking for help at work to be safe. It's pretty well done. The whole video is very calm and has clean camera shots until the worker chops off her fingers. Then it gets very frantic and scary. Very Well done. Unique tactic to draw attention. Different but effective.
Ad Council Global Warming Ad
This global warming PSA is from the Robertson foundation and the Ad council. It is a greatly powerful PSA and really hits home. The quick camera cuts really add to the intensity and i love how the color is gray scaled. You can tell this is a professional PSA. Its very Well done.
An Apple A Day... (A PSA On Anorexia)
This PSA wasn't very good either. Was this a commercial for apples or Anorexia? Because i could barely tell. The filmography made no sense. It was a strong idea to play on that famous health rhyme but they did not pull it off well at all. This was another student piece, but the names were not listed anywhere
Suicide Prevention PSA - Save a Friend, Before you Lose one
No the strongest PSA. You can definitely tell it was a student work by the terrible acting and weak camera angles. all the shots are a little long meaning there is no way this video needs to be almost 3 minutes. it could easily be cut down to 1:30 or 2:00 and it would make the piece a lot less boring. Not awful, but could defintly use some love. This was created by two students, Ryan Shaefer and Jackie Ceballos.
Daydreaming Self Portrait

I don't see how this is a self portrait, but either way it was pretty awful. The blue screen keying was terrible and you could see the blue lines on her face and arms. The videography was super shaky and weak. some creative shots at the beginning but weak overall.

EMS Text Alert PSA
https://www.fema.gov/media-library/assets/videos/82630
This is a unique PSA. It is more of an advertisement for the next emergency alerts that are wired into next generation phones. I love the powerful images of the safety elements we use and trust everyday. It tied in very with the shot of the family running into the bunker. Very well done.

Speechless PSA

This PSA was literally incredible. It gave me chills it was so powerful. So creative and unique the way they broke all the insults and the negatives, and using the mentally challenged person as the narrator just made it so much more powerful. Great PSA for treating mentally challenged people fairly and equally.

1 is 2 Many PSA: 60 Second
Obama?! That's impressive! Another example of how powerful words can be. I hate that its nothing but celebrities, but i love how powerfully simple it is. A good, simple PSA.
Ban Bossy — I'm Not Bossy. I'm the Boss.
I like this PSA a lot. Every PSA doesn't have to be super dramatic and about death and killing. This is a strong point that matters t someone. However, the only real aspect to this PSA is the celebrity endorsement. Other than that its just some text and a simple radial gradient, mixed with celebrities talking. Simple, but powerful. Its a great thing.
Tom Brady Can't Get A High-Five PSA
Super cliche, but it was pretty funny. I like the slow emotional fade into the text and each picture. The typography is actually pretty strong for a random funny video. I wish you couldn't see the edges of the photos and they would be a little more clean. But overall its not bad for a humorous slideshow PSA.
Empty Seat PSA
This is incredibly moving and very powerful. The message they are trying to get across about the high rate of teen suicide is so strong and really well done. The video transitions are so well done and clean, and the slow pan in each shot really adds to the emotion of the video. I do not like the typography in the middle of the video. Its no placed well i don't think. Overall, Great.
